Mooring Information

Moorings for all classes at BBR 2016 are included as part of the registration fee for the evenings of August 5th and 6th.  Arrangements for moorings before or after the event can be made through the Beverly Yacht Club, or visiting captains may elect to make other arrangements with the local Boatyards (information below).  The harbor-wide mooring fee is $50/boat/night.  Mooring assignments for all visiting race boats will be available at the registration desk, launch/haul, and aboard the BYC launches when you arrive in the harbor.  Please note that some boats, especially one-design boats, may be asked to raft.

PHRF, J105, & Multihull Classes

A boat arriving in Marion via water should contact the BYC launch on Channel 68 when approaching Ram Island. Please identify your boat name, length overall, and draft. The BYC launch will assign an appropriate mooring at that time.  If you have chosen to make other arrangements with the local boatyards, please contact them for your mooring assignment.

One-Design Classes

The local Beverly Yacht Club One-Design Fleets have sponsored moorings for their visiting classes (J/24, J/80, Shields, Ensigns, H-12s, & Bullseyes) and a mooring will be assigned upon arrival in Marion for each registered one-design for Friday and Saturday nights at no cost.  For boats arriving on trailers, mooring information may be obtained at Launch/Haul or at the Registration Desk.  Please follow the instructions above for contacting the BYC launch if arriving by water.

Spectator Boats

If you are planning to bring a spectator boat to the event, please contact one of the local boatyards to make a mooring arrangement for your vessel (note that the harbor-wide $40/night fee will apply).  Due to the limited amount of moorings available in the harbor, the BYC moorings are reserved for the visiting race boats, and there will be no dock space available for coach or spectator boats.

In order to keep the Town of Marion, its boatyards, and the BYC Waterfront running smoothly, please adhere to all posted rules/regulations.  No vessel should be tied to any Town of Marion or boatyard dock without prior permission from the harbormaster or boatyard.  No vessel over 10’ may tie up to any of the BYC floats for any length of time without prior permission from the BYC Waterfront Director.  Any vessel tied up without permission will be immediately asked to leave the dock, and any unattended vessel will be moved to a mooring and charged for one night’s stay.  Dinghies (under 10’) may tie up to the end of the BYC Dinghy Dock located to the north of the main pier.

Launch Schedule

For your convenience the BYC launch will operate on an extended schedule during BBR:

Friday, August 5:               0800 - 2300 hours
Saturday, August 6:          0700 - 2300 hours
Sunday, August 7:             0700 - 2100 hours

Please help us keep our launches safe by observing all posted rules/regulations and remembering that no hazardous materials (gasoline, batteries, propane, etc), outboard motors, or open alcoholic beverages are allowed on board any launch at any time.
